In 2023, Hong Kong SAR had the highest non-resident share of patent applications at **** percent. South Africa and Mexico followed behind with non-resident shares of **** and **** percent, respectively. Out of the top 20 national patent offices, China had the lowest non-resident share of applications at *** percent.
