'Apparent consumption' is calculated by adding imports to a country’s production and subtracting exports. Apparent consumption volumes are not adjusted for levels of stocks. It is synonymous with 'demand'. This statistic has been assembled using several editions of the report.
The production volume of sawn hardwood in Europe has decreased from 2017 to 2020, before increasing to over 14.6 million cubic meters in 2021 and decreasing again in 2022. Imports, exports, and apparent consumption of sawn hardwood in Europe each experienced increases in 2022.
