For the calculation of reputation rankings, academic staff from Universities around the world completed a survey asking their opinion of their own and other Universities based on their individual experiences.
The scores are based on the number of times an institution is cited by respondents as being "the best" in its field of expertise.
The number one institution has a score of 100 and the scores of all other institutions in the table are expressed as a percentage of the top rating university's score.
