Almost all U.S. respondents aged 18 to 49 years reported owning a cell phone in a 2025 survey. The age group from 18 to 29 years had the largest smartphone ownership in the country, at ** percent, while the respondents aged 65 years and older had the largest share of owners of cellphones that were not smartphones, at ** percent.
