As of April 2026, almost half of Britons disagreed that Britain and America shared a special relationship, the term used to describe the close diplomatic ties between the two countries since World War II. The share of people who agree that there is a special relationship has fallen from 51 percent in January 2021 to just 23 percent as of the most recent survey.
