This statistic presents the prevalence of all musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) of the back and all MSDs of the upper limb, by body part and by sex, in France in 2021. Low back pain and sciatica are part of the MSDs of the back, and shoulder and elbow MSDs as well as carpal tunnel syndrome are part of the MSDs of the upper limb. It is observed that all musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) of the back affected nearly ** percent of men and ** percent of women. Low back pain (excluding sciatica) was the most common type of back MSD.
