On March 15, 2020, several countries established a government-mandated lockdown to try to curb the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind the disease called COVID-19. This isolation resulted in increased consumption of video platforms, with YouTube standing out especially among the youngest. In fact, the Spanish population aged 4 to 15 between March and April 2020 spent an average of one hour and fifteen minutes per day watching content published on this open video platform. The time spent by British and American children was even higher. Specifically, their child population spent between ** and 100 minutes daily on YouTube, with American children spending the most minutes in front of the screen. However, in all three countries, children's consumption increased by ** to ** minutes compared to the time dedicated to this purpose in May of the previous year.
