It seems that, finally, there is some moderation in the growth rate of food prices in Spain. Despite this, the accumulated increase in prices between December 2019 and August 2024 is notable, being especially intense in the case of some basic products. This is the case of olive oil, which cost *** percent more in August 2024 than in December 2019. Sugar, with a price increase of almost ** percent during the same period, is the second most affected food by inflation. Other items that are not far behind are potatoes, whole milk, and eggs, whose cost has experienced an accumulated increase of more than ** percent.
