This chart shows the proportion of French Muslims who consider religion to be a significant element of their identity, by age group in 2008-2009 and 2019-2020. The youngest Muslims were those for whom religion was the most important for their identity. However, between 2008 and 2020, the importance of religion as a significant element of identity decreased for all age groups.
