The country with the highest energy consumption per person was Iceland, with a consumption of 167,175 kilowatt-hours per person. In second and third place in 2020 were Qatar and then Singapore. Conversely, the countries with the lowest energy consumption per person in 2020 were the Central African Republic, Burundi, and finally Somalia, with an energy consumption of only 236 kilowatt-hours per person. These consumptions correspond to all energies converted into kilowatts, that is, both fossil fuels and sustainable energies.

In France, energy consumption per person was 37,041 kilowatt-hours, slightly above the European average of 28,617 kilowatt-hours.
