This statistic presents the number of refugees, people in refugee-like situations, and people in need of international protection worldwide in 2024, according to their destination country. Iran and Turkey are the two countries that hosted the most refugees that year. Germany ranked third.
Refugee-hosting countries are characterized by their reception policies, but also by their proximity to the countries of origin of the refugees, such as Turkey and Iran for Syria, Pakistan for Afghanistan, and Germany, Russia, and Poland for Ukraine.
