This chart shows the proportion of the population living below the international poverty line worldwide in 2015, by geographic region. It can be seen that the region with the lowest poverty rate was Europe and Central Asia (1.5 percent). In contrast, Sub-Saharan Africa had a poverty rate of 41.1 percent, the highest in the world.
