The U.S. Federal Reserve chose in the eleventh month of 2024, just two days after the presidential elections, to reduce interest rates again by a quarter point. It was the second adjustment made during the last four months of the year, after cutting the cost of money by *** points in September. During the first eight months of 2025, the FED has been reluctant to introduce downward changes, despite pressures from Donald Trump. However, this body has decided to modify its strategy during the fourth four-month period and has announced a reduction of the benchmark interest rates by **** points, due to the weakening of the labor market.
