Oceania is the continent with the highest proportion of population consuming illegal drugs. As in all other regions of the world, cannabis is the most prevalent substance, with percent of the population reporting its use. At the other end is Asia, which, although it records a low overall prevalence of drug use, has the highest rate of opioid use worldwide.
