The Government of Chile announced in January 2022 the entry into force of the agreements of the National Health Fund (Fonasa) with pharmacy chains, thanks to which the number of medications with discounts increased from 2,700 to 6,900. Among them are some of the best-selling drugs in the country, such as paracetamol. This analgesic ranked first, with a sales volume exceeding six million units between January and October 2021, according to data collected by the National Medicines Agency Department (ANAMED). Losartan and ibuprofen competed for the second and third positions in the ranking, both with more than 4.5 million.
