Question asked: As a parent, there are times when one may experience a period of stress that can resemble parental burnout. This is characterized by one or more of the following symptoms:
- A deep physical and emotional exhaustion that is little or not relieved by rest
- A gradual distancing from the children. The parent feels less and less affection for their children and acts daily like an automaton
- A loss of fulfillment in their role as a parent
