In May 2024, the vast majority of French people were in favor of the right to assisted dying in cases of serious and incurable illness. However, there was a variation in the percentage of supporters according to age. The age group with the highest proportion of supporters of active assisted dying was those aged 65 and over. Conversely, the ** to ** age group was the least favorable to euthanasia. More marked differences regarding the opinion of the French on the issue can be observed based on religious affiliation.
