According to a survey conducted in April 2025 in the United States, nearly half of the U.S. adults encountered unauthorized access of their credit/debit card information, which led to fraudulent charges. Furthermore, 36 percent of respondents encountered an e-commerce fraud. Around a quarter of respondents said they had experienced a phone call, e-mail, or text that led them to give away personal confidential information.
