While this was a larger share than other credit registries, Verra's share of issuances has decreased substantially since 2021, when it accounted for 78 percent of issuances. In comparion, Gold Standard saw its share of global credit issuances increase from ** percent to ** percent between 2021 and 2024. Verra and Gold Standard are the two largest voluntary offset project registries worldwide, and together have issued almost *** billion carbon credits.
