In 2023, monocrystalline silicon modules accounted for 98 percent of the global production, while polycrystalline silicon modules disappeared from the market. Thin film solar modules held a share of two percent of the total production. The production of solar photovoltaic modules worldwide reached approximately 612 gigawatts in 2023.Â
