According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2023, physical or mental health problems were the most common reason for suicidal thoughts among most people with disabilities. Two major outliers were people with hearing or speech impairments, who were concerned about work or career problems, and those with intellectual disorders who struggled with loneliness. Among those whose main reason was their health, it ranged from around ** percent among those with mental disorders to ** percent among those internal, organ-related or facial conditions.
