According to a May 2024 survey in Canada, 30 percent of diehard hockey fans stated that they definitely or probably would encourage their children to avoid playing hockey as a result of recent violent incidents in the sport. Among the total survey, 23 percent of respondents stated they definitely would not discourage their kids from playing hockey.
