Between 2020 and 2023, approximately *** billion U.S. dollars were invested globally in factories for manufacturing energy transition-related equipment. China alone accounted for around ** percent of this total. Under current plans and announcements, a further *** billion U.S. dollars is expected to be invested worldwide between 2024 and 2027. China's share of investment is expected to fall slightly during this period, as other regions invest large amounts of capital to increase domestic manufacturing.
