TIV (trend-indicator value) is a unit invented by SIPRI. It is used to allow comparison between data on deliveries of various conventional weapons and to identify general trends. The TIV is based on the known unit production costs of a core set of weapons and is intended to represent the transfer of military resources rather than the financial value of the transfer.

Between 2020 and 2024, exports of missiles from Israel were measured at *** billion trade-indicator value (TIV), an indicator developed by the SIPRI institute. This was the largest arms category exported from the country over a five-year period. Furthermore, sensor exports reached a scale of *** million TIV in this period. Other major exported weapon categories included air-defense systems and aircraft.
