In 2022, the contribution from accommodation and food service activities to the gross provincial product (GPP) of Surat Thani in Thailand amounted to around **** billion Thai baht, significantly increased from the previous year. Due to the reliance of Surat Thani's economy on tourism, the absence of tourists on the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao, in 2020 and 2021 had a significant impact on the province's GPP contribution from accommodation and food service activities.
