Glass perfume or aftershave bottles were the most commonly misplaced type of recyclable waste in the UK, according to a March 2024 survey. At the time, more than half of adults surveyed placed that type of waste in the general rubbish collection, even though they were collected for recycling in their area. Foil followed, with ** percent of adults disposing it incorrectly. Overall, over half of UK citizens disposed of *** or more recyclable waste items in the general rubbish.Â
