What are the main import products in the region?
In 2024, the value of mineral fuels, mineral oils, and products of their distillation imported to Serbia reached over 4.5 billion euros, making it the leading product category. During the same year, the value of electrical machinery and equipment imported to the country totaled 3.65 billion euros. When it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the second largest importer in the region, the value of mineral fuels, mineral oils, and products of their distillation imported to the country reached nearly 1.8 billion euros in the same year.
Who are the Western Balkans’ main trading partners?
In 2023, the Europen Union was the Western Balkans’ main trading partner, accounting for approximately 67 percent of the region’s trade in goods. China also grew into an important trade partner, accounting for a share of nine percent in the same year, followed by Türkiye and Russia, with five and three percent, respectively.Â
