The value of goods and services imported to Italy has gradually increased from 2020 to 2022, before decreasing in 2023. The share of imports stabilized around 25 percent of GDP from 2013 to 2020, while it reached 30.3 percent of the Gross Domestic Product in 2024. In the same year, exports added up to 32.5 percent of the GDP.
