Hate crimes are criminal acts motivated by prejudices against particular groups of people. To be considered a hate crime, the offense must meet two criteria: first, the act must be an offense under criminal law and second, the act must have been motivated by prejudice.

In 2023, discrimination against disabled people in Spain surged by * percent compared to 2022, marking the sharpest increase of any victim group.
