It was estimated that in 2022 around 29 percent of hospital inpatient days in the United States were incurred by people with diabetes and around 19 percent of hospital inpatient days could be attributed to diabetes. Furthermore, around 27 percent of medication prescriptions in the U.S. that year were incurred by people with diabetes.
