Launched in early December 2024, hero shooter Marvel Rivals reported 10 million players at its launch weekend. Less than two weeks later, publisher and developer NetEase reported 20 million players for the team-based player-versus-player (PvP) title, making it a massive success. Marvel Rivals claimed six times as many players than direct competitor Overwatch 2. As of February 2025, Marvel Rivals reported 40 million players.
