The source specifies that "the target population of the 2021 VIUS includes most privately-owned and commercial vehicles registered with motor vehicle departments in the 50 states and the District of Columbia that are classified by vehicle manufacturers as trucks, minivans, vans, or SUVs in operation during the 2021 calendar year."
