Figures calculated by ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ using data from the .
The figures were calculated as the difference between two figures:Â
Net additions to housing stock: calculated as the number of units in the housing stock in a given year minus that number in the previous yearthat year
Households fromed: the number of families formed that year was calculated as the total number of families in a given year minus the number of families in the previous year.
From 2021 to 2023, the number of units added to the housing stock increased at a much slower rate than the number of households in Glasgow. Although there was a housing shortage in all the major cities in 2023, that difference between dwellings built and households formed was the worst in Glasgow.
