An August 2024 survey analyzed the attitude of Europeans towards overtourism protestors in popular travel destinations worldwide. As of that month, roughly of respondents in Spain expressed either a great deal or a fair amount of sympathy for overtourism protestors. While ** percent of the sample in Germany said the same, ** percent of surveyed Italians had not very much or not at all sympathy for residents of popular travel destinations who protested about overtourism.
