As of 2023, the vast majority of Americans were unfamiliar with the concept of the Environmental, Social and Corporate-Governance (ESG) movement regardless of political beliefs. Roughly ** percent of respondents from each political category were not at all familiar with ESG. An additional ** percent of republican respondents stated they were "not too familiar" with the concept. This portion of respondents was higher for independents and Democrats, with **, and ** percent stating they were "not too familiar" with ESG.Â
