Among survey respondents, 47.8 percent were male and 52.2 percent were female; 24.6 percent were between 18 and 25 years old, 40.9 percent were between 26 and 30 years old, and 34.5 percent were between 31 and 35 years old. Furthermore, 48.9 percent of respondents came from 1st and 2nd tier cities in China, 24.4 percent were from 3rd and 4th tier cities, 18.3 percent were from county seats whereas the rest were from smaller towns and villages. Majority of the respondents, about 51.8 percent, had a monthly income between 5,001 and 15,000 yuan, while 19.1 percent earned less than 3,000 yuan per month.
