Original question: "Are you considering leaving your current workplace within the next year?"
Nurses from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland were randomly selected to participate in this research by direct e-mail invitation.
Nurses from Quebec and the Territories were encouraged to participate in this research by their respective unions.

According to a survey in 2025, roughly one in five nurses in Canada were considering leaving their current job. A further one in ten wanted to leave the nursing profession altogether. For the majority, high workload was the top factor to consider when leaving their job.
