Data derived from agency responses to annual FISMA CIO Metrics are grouped into five categories, aligning with NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework (CSF): Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover.
As of the fiscal year 2023, 12 of 23 CFO Act agencies in the United States scored 90 to 100 out of 100 in cybersecurity progress. Additionally, seven agencies reached a score of 80 to 89, while four agencies received a score between 70 and 79. The cybersecurity progress level of U.S. government CFO Act agencies is measured by the implementation level of the May 2021 U.S. President's Executive Order (EO) 14028 on Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity and subsequent policy guidelines.
