As of September 2022, nearly half of consumers in England believed that the government should prioritize funding the installation of residential on-street charging points, with the installation of ultra-rapid charging infrastructure at motorway service areas a close second in terms of consumer popularity. Since 2018, the UK government offers grants for on-street charging infrastructure installation.
