After much delay, the action-role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 was finally released in December 2020 and generated about 830 thousand peak concurrent users on Steam during the month of its release. However, this success was short-lived, as the game was widely criticized for the number of bugs in its launch version. The game received several post-launch patches, and user figures recovered somewhat in 2022. In September 2023, the game's only planned expansion, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, was released to great success, selling 4.3 million copies within six weeks of release. In July 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 had 70,422 peak concurrent users on the gaming platform.
