In 2023, preliminary figures indicated that Vietnam's oil industry contributed about **** percent of revenue to the state budget, a modest decline from the year before. Most of Vietnam's crude oil and natural gas reserves lie offshore, mainly in the Cuu Long and the Nam Con Son basins.
