Looking back, opinions on the impact of Barbie dolls on women in society have been rather mixed. In 2023, about one in five surveyed individuals in Great Britain felt Barbie had a positive impact on women, whereas about one in four said it had a negative impact. Nearly 40 percent of respondents believed the toy had no real impact. When comparing the opinions of men and women, more men felt the doll had had a negative effect.
