According to a survey carried out in October 2022 about illegal gambling in South Korea, around a quarter of the respondents answered that their motivation to engage in such illicit activities was in pursuit of a mood change. Gambling is a heavily regulated activity in the country, with only a few legal channels available for South Korean citizens.
