According to a survey conducted in 2023, ** percent of Americans believed that business owners should be able to refuse to provide services that might conflict with their lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender beliefs in the United States. In 2023, there was a Supreme Court case in which a website designer argued that requiring her to design wedding websites for same-sex couples would violate her right to freedom of speech, raising the question of whether business owners should be allowed to refuse services based on a person's sexual or gender identity despite anti-discrimination legislation.
