Opinion on the nationalization of water companies in GB 2023
As of 2023, more than two-thirds of adults surveyed in Great Britain believed that water companies should be nationalized and run in the public sector. Wales and England have had a fully privatized water and sewage system since 1989, although Welsh Water operates as a not-for-profit organization. In Scotland, and also Northern Ireland, the water sector remains in public ownership.
