According to a survey conducted in July 2022, a smooth in-store payment process was one of the main reasons for using the tap to pay function of credit cards among consumers in Japan. Over ** percent of respondents intended to use the contactless function of IC credit cards because it enables a quick payment process. Other main reasons for using the tap to pay function were reward points and habit.
