In Portugal, consumption of dairy has decreased from 2020 to 2023, mostly because milk consumption went from ** to ** kilograms per person. Nevertheless, milk was the most consumed dairy product. The consumption of butter was also of *** kilograms in 2024, and the consumption of acidified milk, including yogurts, reached ** kilograms in the same year. Other fresh dairy products, such as cream, registered the highest increase, namely percentage points in 2022.
