Jeonse is a rental system unique to South Korea where tenants pay a large sum of deposit, usually equivalent to more than half of the property's value, in exchange for two years rent. This deposit is meant to be returned by the end of the rental period, but in jeonse fraud the tenants fail to get their deposit back.
