According to a survey on tobacco consumption among students by IIPS in 2019, over percent of high school students in rural India reported on using smoking tobacco products. In comparison, over **** percent of students in urban areas consumed smoking tobacco products. There were higher tobacco users in the rural areas as compared to the urban areas of India.
