As of February 2026, Maharashtra held over percent share of medium, small, and micro enterprises in India. It was followed by Uttar Pradesh with more than ** percent share. The Ministry of MSMEs runs various schemes to provide credit and financial assistance to MSMEs. The central government has also initiated schemes targeting the northeastern states of India.
